With a resigned draw of bated breath, a subtle sigh issued forth; a faint, fervent prayer from the lips of the congregated students fell into the pleasant, sunny air between them. The moment was a simple moment, almost expected of the many students in Kingsland Baptist Church of Katy’s mission group to Blackshear, Georgia in the muggy, so-gnat-filled-that-I-want-to-punch-kittens summer of 2007. And the day was beautiful enough, at least as beautiful as could be expected in weather so very deadly to kittens.

All told, my personal thoughts regarding cinema concerning matters of Christian faith: the greatest story ever told, ever written, ever imagined has been written by God and God alone. Doesn't it make sense that the most compelling, cliché moments in cinematic stories would align with the story God wrote?

In the sky, mysterious phenomena abound: rainbow, aurora borealis, crepuscular rays and sun beams, mirages and phantom fires, twinkling stars, Relámpago del Catatumbo—a never-ending lightning storm, raining fish in Honduras and Idaho's fire rainbow; how often have the clouds offered beautiful shapes and stunning acrobatics, flowing formations and dynamic displays in the midst of a heavenly, evening sun?
